The short version: we collect what you give us through our forms, plus basic analytics about how the site is used. We use it to answer you, prepare what you asked for, and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your mobile number or text message consent with anyone for their marketing.

Who we are and what this covers

Body Shop GM is operated by BodyShopGM, a company based in Los Angeles, California. Body Shop GM makes shop management software for collision repair shops. This policy covers this website, its forms, its free tools, and the emails and text messages we send to people who contact us through it. "We", "us", and "our" mean BodyShopGM.

This policy does not cover the paid Body Shop GM software. Information that shops put into the software is handled under the subscription agreement for that software.

Information we collect

Information you give us

Form entries. Your name, shop name, email address, phone number, how many repair orders your shop closes a month, which estimating system you use, the topic you picked, and anything you write in a message.
Quiz answers. Your answers to the Shop Scale Quiz and the results we calculate from them.
Uploaded estimates. The estimate files you upload for the free estimate audit. Estimates can include details about your customers and their vehicles, such as names, vehicle information, and claim details. Only upload estimates you have the right to share.
Text message consent. Whether you checked the box to receive text messages, and when.

Information collected automatically

Analytics and advertising cookies and pixels. We may use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. These tools use cookies and similar technology to collect information such as the pages you view, the actions you take, your approximate location, and details about your device and browser.
Campaign information. The page you came from, the page you submitted a form on, and the campaign tags in the link you followed.
Server logs. Our hosting systems record standard log data such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time of each request.

How we use information

To answer your questions and requests.
To schedule and give demos.
To prepare and send your quiz results and your estimate audit.
To send emails about your request and about Body Shop GM. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To send text messages, only if you opted in.
To understand how the site is used and to improve it.
To measure and improve our advertising.
To keep the site secure and to prevent spam and abuse.
To meet our legal obligations.

Uploaded estimates

We use the estimates you upload only to prepare your audit and to talk with you about the results. We handle them as customer data. We do not use them for advertising. We do not sell them. We do not share them with insurers.

Text messages

We send text messages only to people who opted in by checking the consent box on one of our forms. Checking the box is optional. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

We do not share mobile numbers, text message opt-in data, or text message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.We share this information only with the service providers that deliver our text messages, and only so they can deliver them.

Who we share information with

We share information with service providers that help us run the site and respond to you. They may use it only to do that work for us. These providers fall into these categories:

We may also share information:

When the law requires it, or to respond to a valid legal request.
To protect the rights, safety, or property of Body Shop GM, our users, or others.
As part of a merger, sale, or transfer of our business. If that happens, this policy continues to apply to your information until you are told otherwise.

We do not sell personal information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not give or rent contact lists to other companies.

Analytics and advertising tools collect information through cookies and pixels, as described above. Under California law, this can count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, even when nothing is exchanged for money. See Your Privacy Choices to opt out.

How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. That includes answering you, keeping a record of our conversations, and meeting legal obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete it or remove the details that identify you. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections to this site and limits on who can access what you send us. No website or system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Access, correction, and deletion. Emailhello@bodyshopgm.com to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We may need to confirm your identity first.
Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email us.
Text messages. Reply STOP to any message.
Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google and Meta also offer their own controls for ad and analytics settings.
Opt out of sale and sharing. VisitYour Privacy Choices to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser.

We will not treat you differently for making any of these choices.

California privacy rights

If you live in California, state law may give you additional rights, depending on whether that law applies to us. These can include the right to:

Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
Get a copy of your personal information.
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Delete your personal information, with some exceptions.
Opt out of the sale of personal information, or the sharing of it for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Your Privacy Choices.

We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we treat you as opted out of the sale and sharing of your personal information automatically.

To make a request, email hello@bodyshopgm.com. You may use an authorized agent. We will ask for proof that the agent has your permission.

Children

This site is for collision repair businesses. It is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will make it more noticeable on the site.
